“Investbank” JSC and Visionary Foundation draw attention to climate change and the disappearance of the seasons

Global warming, climate changes have been hot topics for a long time. Probably many people have been noticed that in the last 10-15 years the seasons in Bulgaria have been different- there is no snow for Christmas for a long time and the summer is short and often rainy.

In order to direct the audience’s attention to this serious problem “Investbank” JSC and Visionary foundation joined together in a joint project- SEASONS. The main goal is to raise issue of environmental protection with a focus on consequences of human activity, climate change and disappearance of Bulgaria’s characteristic four seasons. Artists from 6 countries have transformed into an open gallery area of 400 square meters in capital’s pedestrian underpass on Bulgaria Blvd. and Todor Kableshkov Blvd., drawing attention to the four seasons in a positive but somewhat nostalgic way. 12 artists from Bulgaria, Brazil, Columbia, Spain, Austria, Germany and England, who in period from 16-thto 26-th of August painted their works on 35 panels in the underpass, naturally surrounded by the beautiful limestone, part of the wall cladding.

In the second half of September, the Visionary foundation will hold organized tours, during which viewers will be able to learn more about the different mural paintings, thematically dedicated to each of the four seasons.

For more than 15 years, we felt the gradual loss of the seasons, and the increasingly serious consequences such as floods, fires, prolonged heat and devastating storms are a fact in the countries of the temperate climate zone, among which is Bulgaria. But these changes are not irreversible and the building of an ecologically sustainable future depends only on the awareness and engagement of the general public with the problem.

He added that is extremely important more business representatives are directly involved in the overall concept and ideas of sustainable development, because companies that are well managed, socially responsible and ecologically sustainable have a greater chance of reversing negative trends and thereby slowing down climate change.

The project SEASONS is also implemented with the support of the Metropolitan Municipality- Metropolitan program “Culture”, Metropolitan Municipality- “Triaditsa” District and Metropolitan Municipality- “Vitosha” District.
