Important information regarding payments as of 01/01/2026.

Bulgaria has officially adopted the euro and joined SEPA – the Single Euro Payments Area.

This brings changes to the way some transfers are processed.

SEPA and SEPA Instant – the new euro payment systems
BISERA6, RINGS, BLINK, and direct debit services in BGN are discontinued.

What options will you have in mobile/internet banking?

• SEPA – standard transfer in EUR, up to 1 business day
• SEPA Instant (TIPS) – instant transfer in EUR, available on working days, weekends, and public holidays (24/7/365), up to 5 seconds
• Blink P2P – instant transfer by mobile phone number, now in EUR
• Blink Parking – payment for hourly parking zones in over 20 cities across the country

The Bank executes payment orders to accounts within its branch network, to accounts in other Bulgarian banks, and to accounts in foreign banks, in accordance with the applicable legislation in the country.

Transfers will be processed via:

• BISERA – standard domestic credit transfers in EUR
• BISERA/STEP2 – standard credit transfers in EUR within Bulgaria and the EEA (European Economic Area)
• SEPA INSTANT/TIPS – instant credit transfers in EUR within Bulgaria and the EEA

All transfers within Bulgaria, the EEA, and outside the EEA are executed in EUR.

Large-value transfers:

TARGET – the European large-value payment system

Transfers to the state budget:

Standard EUR transfer to government institutions

Transfers in foreign currency:

VISA Direct – fast and secure transfers to accounts in the USA (USD) and the United Kingdom (GBP)
